Dear Summerplace Neighbor,
In preparation for the 2016 annual meeting and the election of officers of the Summerplace Improvement Association Inc.(SIA), annual meeting packets were mailed or delivered to all SIA members on October 21 and 22, 2016. Of particular importance is the return of the following documents found in Section III of the annual meeting documents:
- Voting certificate
- Election ballot
- Proxy, if you cannot attend the SIA Annual Meeting
Not only is your Summerplace property a home, but it is also a valuable asset and investment. You are assured a voice in the welfare and direction of our community by returning the above documents. It is important to return the documents noted above even if you cannot attend the meeting on Saturday, November 19, 2016, 10:00 AM at 1820 Barefoot Place East, Vero Beach, Florida, 32963 in order by ensuring your vote will be counted.
It is especially important for all members to participate this year as there is an ongoing lawsuit initiated by Robert Jaffe against the Association concerning issues on Barefoot Place East. The proposed SIA 2017 budget reflects the cost of this lawsuit not covered by insurance. However, please be advised it may become necessary to have a legal assessment if there are significant expenses incurred by the Association above those covered by insurance. The Board seeks guidance from the membership in this matter.
An invoice for the 2017 annual dues is enclosed is Section II. Dues are payable by January 1, 2017, and in arrears after February 1, 2017. Please consider sending your dues when you return your ballot, voting certificate, and proxy.
