Board of Director’s Meeting Minutes Oct. 7, 2022
The open Board meeting was called to order at 11am at 1991 W. Barefoot Pl.
Attending: Board members John Lehnhardt, Mary Beasman, Steve Melchiori and Walter Garrard
The Fy 2021-2 financial report was distributed for review as the fiscal year ended Sept. 30. The year ended with a surplus of $7809.47, which was be added to Limited Voluntary Deferred Expenditure Account for future use as needed. This account allows SIA to meet emergency or capital needs, like replacement of beach stairs, without having to impose additional assessments.
The proposed FY2022-3 budget was distributed for review. This budget is based on the projected income from 2023 from annual dues of $22,050. Annual dues will remain at $300 per lot. Both the financial report and the proposed budget are part of the October annual mailing to members ahead of the Noverber 12 annual meeting.
A repair material estimate of $628.45 for the E. Shell stairs was reviewed. It was recommended that up to $1000 total be dedicted for the repair as we expect material prices to flux along with availability given the issues from hurricane Ian on the West coast of Florida.
It was moved and seconded to approve the $1000 for the project. The motion was passed
unanimously.
Materials have been ordered and will hopefully arrive next week so repair work can begin.
Repairs will be done in house.
4. Indian River County has decided it will not do supplimentary yard waste pickup after
Hurricane Ian. Waste Management will do it’s usual pickup of yard waste for those signed up
for yard waste service. Once WM has done it’s first pass through the area, the SIA Board will
determine whether we need to provide our own yard debris removal. It was recommended
SIA allot $1150 for potential supplimentary yard waste removal pending WM action.
It was moved and seconded to allot $1150 for supplimentary yard waste removel, if needed.
The motion was apporoved unanimously.
We have contacted our usually annual trimming provider and he has agreed to come next
Saturday Oct. 15 and remove any piles left over on SIA streets.
5. The mailing of materials for the annual meeting of the SIA membership Saturday November
12, 2022 at 10am will go out Monday October 10. This mailing includes the annual dues
invoice and Board of Directors election Ballot.
