I hope you are all safe and well after hurricane Milton, the torrential rains and the tornados that hit other parts of our county. I think most homes avoided serious wind damage but there was significant flooding and some home damage from high water after the 6 to 9 inches of rain we got on Wednesday October 10 before the hurricane even hit. There were numerous power outages and lots of wifi interruptions. I think most power and wifi is back on. I just got my wifi about 30 minutes ago after 5 days without it.
It wouldn’t be a hurricane without beach stair damage. The East Shell stairs are gone and the E. Barefoot stairs are badly damaged. Both these are impassable and will require county emergency permits. It will take some time to get them back open. I have started the emergency permit application process. Luckily, the E. Pebble Path stairs suffered no damage and can be used to access the beach by all SIA members. The lock code on the gate is 1881.
Thanks to all for cleaning up the yard debris from their property and the streets so we can get around easily.
