The E. Shell Beach stairs have sustained significant damage due to the high tides and rough surf over the last few days. The wooden stairs, posts and railings will need to be replaced.
You will not be able to access the beach from E. Shell Lane but the platform has so far survived and can still be used to view the ocean.
Access to the beach is still currently available on E. Barefoot Place and E. Pebble Path as those stairs have survived without damage so far.
It may take some time to replace the stairs as materials and workmen are scarce and we need to go through the full permitting process with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Indian River County.
We will have an update at the annual meeting this Saturday at 10am at 1995 W. Barefoot Pl.
