SIA Executive Board Meeting Minutes 11-16-2019
The newly elected Board or Directors of the Summerplace Improvement Association met in executive session at 11:45am Sat. Nov. 16, 2019 at the home of Steve Melchiori. The Board members are:
Attending: Walter Garrard, Bart Heikes, John Lehnhardt and Steve Melchiori.
Not in Attendance – Ronnie Lawn, away on vacation. He was notified that the meeting would occur after the annual meeting if he was elected to the Board but he was to be out of town and approved the meeting going ahead without him by personal conversation with John Lehnhardt on Nov. 1.
Election of Officers
John Lehnhardt was nominated and seconded for SIA President. The vote was unanimous in favor of the nomination.
Bart Heikes was nominated and seconded as Vice President. The vote was unanimous in favor of the nomination.
John Lehnhardt moved to ask Mary Beasman if she would continue as SIA secretary. Bart Heikes seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
John lehnhardt volunteered to continue as interim Treasurer until after this dues cycle was complete and a volunteer could be recruited and trained. Walter Garrard would be second approved signatory until a new treasurer was appointed. It was moved and seconded to approve the treasurer plan. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
The board decided not to fill the open board position created by the election of John Lehnhardt as President at this time. We will readdress the vacancy after the start of the new year. There is precedent and merit to keeping a board position open to use for recruitment purposes.
It was moved and seconded to adjourn. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
