Re: UPDATE on Post Hurricane Irma Clean-Up
TC Palm reported the following on September 20, 2017:
Indian River County Unincorporated Areas: The pickup schedule for private roads is being determined, and the County first wants to get approval from FEMA. On Tuesday, the County Commission agreed to ask for approval. In the meantime, private subdivisions are being asked to submit a pickup form to the county
Note: SIA completed this form and registered with the County several weeks ago.
Those SIA members who were here last year during hurricane season will recall that it was a month of more before the County picked up the landscaping debris on private roads following Hurricane Matthew. It will most likely be that long or longer this year.
Until there is a decision from the County regarding pickup of yard debris on private roads, we ask that all SIA members be patient. Please cooperate by containing yard waste from your property in reasonable size piles in front of your property, without the debris spilling over into the road.
Once we know how the County will proceed, the Board will be able to move forward on decisions regarding hiring of a landscaping company to clean up our common areas and the roads in general.
Thank you.
