The North Beach Civic Association (NBCA) provides a voice for residents of Vero Beach’s barrier island regarding issues that impact all of us who live here. Of special note is NBCA played a critical role in terminating the proposed septic system-sewer conversion project for Summerplace/Oceanaire Heights. They alerted us that the feasibility study was rapidly moving through the County Commission and provided critical information and support for our efforts.
A large turnout of SIA members at the NBCA annual meeting this Saturday will demonstrate our commitment to the issues of the barrier island, as well as recognize the recent help the NBCA provided to SIA that resulted in terminating the proposed septic system.
Current NBCA efforts are focused on beach preservation, the potential of large increases in flood insurance, the health of the Indian River Lagoon and issues concerning the ALL Aboard rail plan.
It is critical that we remain vigilant to issues that face our barrier island communities and maintain a strong and united group if we are to protect our interests.
Please plan to attend the NBCA meeting this Saturday, April 26, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Environmental Learning Center.
